Fleur visits Arnold Hill

Monday 9th July saw acclaimed author Fleur Hitchcock visit Arnold Hill on the initial afternoon of the Arnold Hill Literary Festival 2018.
As part of her visit, Fleur spoke to a group of specially-selected Year 7 pupils about the process of writing and her achievements as a published author. Activities included focused listening tasks, writing activities and exploratory work based around her book covers and blurbs.

Reflecting on the session, Fleur said, “it was a privilege to work with Arnold Hill’s Year 7 students today; their writing was both imaginative and refined. I was very impressed.” This tremendously positive view was echoed by our pupils. One participant, Charlotte Allsopp said, “it was very entertaining and will come in very useful when I want to write more stories.”

A fantastic start to a wonderful week of literary events!
