Sport Relief 2018

Last week at Arnold Hill Academy, pupils and staff had great fun doing their bit for Sport Relief 2018. The week began with some fantastic rugby training sessions provided by Leicester Tigers for pupils from across the three schools within the Trent Academies Group. Matt Robertson, Head Teacher said “It was great to have the Tigers with us. They’ve got real expertise and we hope the next Farrell can emerge from our ranks.”

Continuing the theme of "whatever makes you move" our pupils put in a fantastic collective effort covering a total of 2100km in PE lessons. Finally, the week's activities culminated in a staff versus pupils basketball game. It was another closely contested game and staff are still to get their revenge after losing 17-11. We would like to thank all of our wonderful pupils for creating a great atmosphere and being so enthusiastic.

Parent Support workshops

A series of FREE workshops are being held to support parents with children aged between 9-19yrs.

These events will take place in central Nottingham at the lovely Antenna and include the opportunity for parents to network and join in with the Q&A session.

They offer a welcoming 'No Judgement - No Blame' service that will leave parents feeling better equipped and supported to manage the 'tricky' adolescent years.

Places can be booked here: http://www.parentingtakesavillage.com/live-events/

Basketball England launch girls' programme

To coincide with International Women’s Day, our year 9 girls took part in the FIBA Under 14 girls 3X3 launch event. Nottingham Wildcats provided the girls with two hours of really enjoyable coaching which helped to develop their game. Everyone agreed it was a fantastic event to be a part of. More information about the programme can be found on the Basketball England website at https://www.basketballengland.co.uk/news/basketball-england-to-launch-girls-3x3-programme/
